HOLY TRINITY, SKIPTON
A big Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Flower Festival last weekend. It was very successful (we raised more than £ 4,000!) and showed how much love and creativity can be expressed with flowers. Here is the requested poem:-
THAT'S WHY GOD MADE FLOWERS
Flowers can speak the naguage of the heart.
Flowers a quiet message can impart.
Love's most secret thought they van convey
Telling what no lips can ever say.
Flowers can heal a hurt, and flowers can bless,
Giving comfort, hope and happiness.
Flowers perform a silent ministry
Singing peace, affection and sympathy.
There are things that go too deep to be expressed
By tongue, or pen, in life's most poignant hours of joy or sorrow.
That's why God made flowers.
Please do join and welcome the members of the H.M.S. Vesper association who are celebrating this special Service with us at Holy Trinity next Sunday 12th September at 9.45am.
Flower team: There will be a planning meeting for Harvest Festival on Tuesday 14th September at 3 pm at Rectory Cottage.

'Flock to Skipton': This is the largest outdoor art exhibition Skipton has ever seen in its history, and it is expected to bring tens of thousands of extra visitors to the town over the three month that the display runs. You may notice more people than usual in Holy Trinity churchyard as visitors to the town come and see our very own special guest as they follow the Sculpture Trail around the town. Why not try it out for yourself? Find out more at www.flocktoskipton.co.uk We do hope that flyers again will be available very soon!
To everyone at Holy Trinity from Enid Powell: My grateful thanks for the most generous present bestowed on me during last Sunday's beautiful Cluster Service. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to nurture the church garden over the past nine years. My very best wishes to those, who will care for it in the future years.
